Congress, Senate Members Push for Government Ad Spending in Minority Press

It’s been eight years since the Government Accountability Office released a damning report that revealed how federal agencies ignored Hispanic and Black media when spending billions of dollars on advertising.
And, despite calls earlier this year for a new report and more inclusion by leaders of the National Association of Hispanic Press and the National Newspaper Publishers Association – two minority newspaper publishing groups that include more than 600 publications nationwide – federal government agencies are still directing their more than $4 billion advertising budget to other media owners.
